Monster Musings

I promised you screenshots, and screenshots are what ye shall get. Well, one screenshot, since the map is so small, at the moment. In fact, most maps will be small, but I'll try to pack as much fun and scares as possible into them.

I'm just facing one problem -- there's no Spider Mastermind enemy. In the original Death Rebellion, you faced a Spider Mastermind, but the DOOM 3 version was taken out and replaced with the Vagary. I suppose, in a pinch, I could use her... yeah, maybe.

I think there's a mod team who are making the Spider Mastermind for their mod. Perhaps if I asked nicely, they would let me use it...? I'll have to remember to ask them, provided they mod doesn't die halfway through without that monster being made.

Anyway, I've waffled on for long enough. Here's the single screenshot I mentioned.

Demons have escaped! Run for your lives!
That weird-looking red light is a rotating alarm klaxon. This level is representing the original pretty well, apart from the shutters in the windows and the dead bodies and the rotating light and.. well, anything that can't be done in the original DOOM.

Vacation Over? Nooooo...

Another post, another day.

Well, the holidays are over and the world's going back to its boring old self.

Anyway, don't worry, I've not quit level editing, my single fan; it's just I've either forgotten to post, or didn't have time.

Well I've started on map 2 for my Death Rebellion remake. It's slowly coming along and there's nothing much to show you, but I certainly haven't quit.

I'm not sure if I'll be working on it for a short while, since my computer is being a bastard, at the moment, crashing randomly and stuff. I'd hate to work hard on a section of the map and have it lost due to a crash. Meh, maybe I'll risk it.

I'll really try to get some screenshots of it, but I won't promise anything. Things are pretty hectic now that the holidays are over, as mentioned earlier.

...Hadn't they just started?

It's A Lovely Day

Well, it would be a lovely day if it weren't for all those blodthirsty demons and homicidal zombie marines.
Anyway, I've created a new skybox for my map. Technically, I've created two skyboxes, but I've chosen to stick with the current one, which is more cloudy and realistic. The old one was very deserty. If you want to have a look at it to see if it'll look good in your map, you can e-mail me at skulkrusha2000@hotmail.com. The skyboxes were made with Terragen, a free downloadable program, which is surprisingly easy to use. Listen, if I can use a program with ease, then it's a safe bet that you'll be able to use it, too.
The cafeteria is now even bloodier, with stains on the walls and even one of the lights. I've slightly reddened the colour of the blood-splattered light to make the blood kind of 'reflect'. I've also added a TV with the IPN news playing. I even put a little blood splat on the screen. You know, just because.
So, here's the 'pikchurz':
That's-a nice-a skybox

This place doesn't look very sanitary...

Alrighty, that's all you're gettin', today. Nothing else for ya. Still here? I suppose you're wondering about releases, then? I'm not sure, but I'll probably release a demo once I get beta versions of levels done.
